Why attention literacy exists

Young people are growing up inside digital environments designed to capture attention, shape behavior, and keep them scrolling. Attention Literacy exists to help students and communities understand those systems instead of being unconsciously shaped by them.

We’re equipping young people with the tools to build a healthier relationship with technology. Social media is not going away, and it is not inherently bad. But young people need to understand how these platforms work so they can use technology intentionally instead of being controlled by it.

Founded by Conner Mather

Hi, I'm Conner, a 21-year-old who's spent the last few years building a life on social media. By 18, I had grown millions of followers and seen firsthand how powerful these platforms can be. I love social media, but I've also seen how it silently shapes people (especially kids) in ways they don't even notice.

"I built audiences on these platforms. I know exactly how they work. Now I want every young person to know it too — so they can choose how they spend their attention instead of having it chosen for them."
